The working environment temperature of the chain machine is mostly at high temperatures, ranging from less than 150 ℃ to more than 300 ℃. So the vast majority of chain oil belongs to high-temperature chain oil.

Performance requirements for high-temperature chain oil

Good high-temperature stability: Can meet the long-term operation of the chain.

It has relatively high Viscosity index: it can not only meet the high temperature lubrication requirements of the heat setting machine, but also ensure the startup at normal temperature.
High flash point; Ensure safe production.
Less residual carbon; It can keep the chain clean for a long time and reduce the cleaning frequency.
Low volatility; It can effectively save lubricating oil and not pollute the environment.
Has a certain degree of adhesion; For the upper chain, it is particularly required that lubricating oil should not drip onto the baking parts below to avoid contamination.

Classification of high-temperature chain oil

Mineral oil type and semi synthetic chain oil:

it is made by mixing mineral oil and PAO into Base Oil in proper proportion and adding functional additives. Applicable temperature is less than 150 ℃.


PAO high temperature chain oil:

PAO is the base oil, a small amount of ester oil is added as the solubilizer, a small amount of Polybutylene is used as the viscosity enhancer, and an appropriate amount of functional additives are added. Applicable temperature is less than 150 ℃.


polyether type high-temperature chain oil:

It is made by blending epoxy ethylene propane oligomer as the base oil and adding an appropriate amount of antioxidants, rust inhibitors, and other additives. Applicable temperature: 150~250 ℃.


Ester high-temperature chain oil:

made from ester oil as the main base oil, mixed with appropriate viscosity increasing agents and functional additives. Applicable temperature: 220-300 ℃.


Solid semi-solid lubricating materials such as Molybdenum disulfide are added. The applicable temperature can be greater than 260 ℃.

Viscosity index, greater than 100 or 150.

The acid value (neutralization value) is less than 0.25mgKOH/g, with some exceeding 0.5mgKOH/g.
Flash point, greater than 240 ℃.
Evaporation loss (250 ℃, 1 hour), which is required for some oil products, usually not exceeding 2.5%.

Although high-temperature chain oil is a small type of oil with a relatively single purpose, it is never just any oil that can be used. Both preparation and use must be taken seriously. There are many types of foreign chain oils that are suitable for various usage scenarios!
