4) Lower evaporation loss
Due to the long-term operation of chain oil in high environments, it is inevitable that the oil will evaporate. This not only causes unpleasant workshop odors, but also causes coking, which has a negative impact on the normal operation of the chain. Therefore, chain oil must have a low evaporation loss.

2. Chain oil classification
High temperature chain oil is generally divided into three types: mineral oil type, semi synthetic oil type, and synthetic type. The most commonly used is high-temperature synthetic chain oil, which is basically made of polyether and polyethylene α Synthetic oils such as olefins (PAO) and ester oils are used as base oils, and then processed with additives such as high-temperature, oxygen resistant, corrosion resistant, and extreme pressure and wear resistant.

High temperature synthetic chain oil now mostly uses basic raw materials such as polyol esters and dicarboxylic acid esters with better thermal stability, among which the new type of dipentaerythritol ester has the best performance. At present, the chain oils commonly used in BOPP/BOPET/BOPA biaxially stretched films for printing and dyeing, such as Kluber from Germany, Eagle from Spain, and Yuguang from Japan, are mostly synthetic ester base oils, with a maximum operating temperature of 250 ℃. However, the high temperature chain oil of dipentaerythritol ester can withstand temperatures above 300 ℃. Foreign studies have shown that high-temperature chain oil using bipentaerythritol ester as the Base Oil has much better high-temperature performance compared to PAO/ester oil types. The bipentaerythritol type high-temperature chain oil has low high-temperature coking and evaporation loss, and the coking surface is also very clean. It is the preferred base oil for high-performance high-temperature chain oil. It is widely recognized and used in users with printing and dyeing heat setting temperatures around 220-280 ℃, and its high cost-effectiveness is unmatched by imported high-temperature synthetic chain oil.

3. Selection and application fields of high-temperature synthetic chain oil
1) Double pentaerythritol ester high temperature chain oil with good high-temperature performance and low evaporation loss will play a leading role in applications such as printing and dyeing high temperature heat setting, BOPP, which have harsh operating conditions and high environmental requirements;

2) Viscosity-increasing polyol esters, composite esters, polyethers (PAG), and PAO high-temperature chain oils will occupy the mid market;

3) In the low-end market, low-cost mineral oil chain oils and semi synthetic chain oils will still dominate the market;

4) For higher operating temperatures, only lubricants with solid lubricating materials such as molybdenum disulfide can meet the requirements.
