What is a complex soap based thickener?

01 Compound lithium grease

The complex lithium grease is a grease prepared by thickening the Base Oil with the compound lithium soap of hydroxyl fatty acid and low molecular weight lithium acid salt, and adding additives. The service life of anti-wear bearings at higher temperatures is much longer than that of ordinary lithium-based grease, which is called the third generation grease.

Performance: Heat resistance, the drop point is greater than 260 ° C, has a certain consistency at high temperature, and has better heat resistance than ordinary lithium-based grease, and its service life is more than 4 times that of ordinary lithium-based grease.

Other properties: Lithium compound grease also has good oxidation stability, lubricity, colloidal stability, mechanical stability, thermal stability, pumpability and excellent water resistance. However, it is difficult to add additives to the compound lithium grease, usually adding additives will reduce the service life of the grease, and its manufacturing technology requirements are higher.

Application: The compound lithium grease is suitable for lubrication of the bearing parts of the wheel hub of the senior car, and it is also suitable for the lubrication of high temperature bearings such as steel rolling machine and sintering machine. The use temperature is generally -20~150℃, and can be applied to 180℃ in a short time.

02 Compound aluminum base grease

Complex aluminum base grease is a grease prepared by thickening base oil of complex aluminum soap formed by reaction of stearic acid, benzoic acid and organoaluminum compound. With unique thermal reversibility, it is a typical high temperature grease.

Properties: thermal reversibility, the compound aluminum base grease has structural reversibility, will not become liquid at a certain high temperature, low temperature will restore the structure of the fat. At the same time, the coning degree of the grease does not change much under a certain degree of mechanical shear. When the shear force is withdrawn, the structural recovery of the grease placed for a certain time is also better.

Thermal stability: the drop point can be higher than 260 ° C, the use temperature can reach 150~160 ° C, the short-term use temperature can reach 200 ° C.

Oxidation stability: It has good oxidation stability and good sensitivity to additives. The oxidation stability is better than that of complex lithium base grease.

Water resistance: It has good water resistance and can still maintain the structure of the grease after mixing with water, and the consistency of the grease does not change much.

Colloidal stability: The oil separation of the composite aluminum-based grease during storage is small, and it has better colloidal stability.

Pumpability: The composite aluminum base grease is the smallest fiber structure of all greases, and its pumpability is the first of other greases, which is favored by centralized lubrication systems.

Application: The compound aluminum base grease can be used for the lubrication of mechanical parts operating at high temperature, and is more suitable for the lubrication of mechanical equipment with centralized lubrication system, such as the lubrication of large rolling mill, sintering machine and other transmission system equipment.

03 Complex Calcium Sulfonate base grease

The compound calcium sulfonate base grease has the characteristics of high drop point, high efficiency, long life and degradation function. Compared with other high temperature greases, such as composite lithium grease, composite aluminum grease or polyurea grease, the performance characteristics are more perfect, is a new concept of lubrication products.

Performance: high temperature resistance, the drop point is higher than 260℃, the use temperature can be increased to 177℃. At the same time, the complex calcium sulfonate base grease has a certain reversibility, and can still restore the original grease structure when it is restored to the general temperature at high temperature.

Low temperature resistance: At low temperatures, the large number of spherical inorganic salt particle oil contained in the grease prevents the condensation of the base oil, and effectively reduces the low temperature starting resistance of the grease by its own inter-crystal rolling and inter-crystal slip.

Mechanical stability: When subjected to shear, except for the partial fracture of calcium fatty acid fiber, other structural skeletons are almost not destroyed, and the distribution is more uniform. Therefore, it has strong shear resistance and good mechanical stability.

Water resistance: The consistency of complex calcium sulfonate base grease in the water shower environment changes little, still has good adhesion, can firmly stay on the metal surface, to avoid the loss of grease due to water shower. At the same time, it does not emulsify and deteriorate for a long time, and has good adaptability to wet and water shower environment.

Corrosion and rust prevention: Calcium sulfonate itself is an excellent anti-rust agent, the use of calcium sulfonate as a thickener in rust prevention is naturally superior to other thickeners.

Extreme pressure wear resistance: Because the grease contains a variety of inorganic salts, a sedimentary layer can be formed on the friction surface, which effectively separates the friction between the two metal surfaces. Under high pressure and high temperature, it will chemically react with other metal ions to form a chemical film, so the complex calcium sulfonate base grease has good load resistance, extreme pressure and wear resistance.

Application: Complex calcium sulfonate base grease is widely used in metallurgy, mining, machinery and other industries. In the metallurgical industry, the advantages of steel continuous casting bearing lubrication and rolling mill bearing lubrication are more obvious. 04 Composite titanium base grease

In the 1990s, researchers in India successfully developed high-performance, multifunctional composite titanium-based greases. The product is a grease made by adding fatty acids, carboxylic acids and alkoxy titanium into the base oil and mixing it with heating. The thickening agent used is a metal-organic compound, which is a new kind of high temperature grease.

Performance: High temperature resistance, composite titanium grease has a high drop point. Compared with ordinary greases, high drop point greases can work at high temperatures. The drop point of composite titanium grease is higher than that of composite lithium and composite aluminum grease.

Antioxidant properties: The antioxidant properties of composite titanium grease are better than those of composite lithium grease, and are comparable to those of composite aluminum grease.

Extreme pressure wear resistance: The extreme pressure wear resistance of composite titanium base grease is equivalent to that of composite lithium and composite aluminum base grease.

Shear stability: Compared with composite lithium and composite aluminum base grease, shear stability is determined by the coning degree after 100,000 times of work and the change of coning degree after 2 hours of drum test. The shear stability of composite titanium base grease is equivalent to that of composite lithium and composite aluminum base grease.
