How to identify true and false Antiwear Agent
Antiwear agent is a kind of high-tech engine oil (lubricating oil) additive. The antiwear agents commonly used in lubricating oil include sulfur antiwear agent, phosphorus antiwear agent, sulfur phosphorus antiwear agent, halogen antiwear agent, organic metal antiwear agent and boron antiwear agent, which can reduce engine wear and increase engine power. Therefore, it is also called engine maintenance agent or strong repair agent, which can extend engine oil. It can save fuel and improve power.
Here are some identification methods:
1. add a certain proportion of anti-wear agent into the product oil of an engine oil, and then analyze the clean dispersion, anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties of the oil. If it is significantly worse than the original engine oil, even if the anti-wear effect of the anti-wear agent is good enough to affect other properties of the engine oil, it can not be reused.
2. heat the anti-wear agent to 200 ℃ (because the maximum temperature of the engine oil at the piston is over 270 ℃), if the anti-wear agent cannot withstand high temperature, it is obviously blackened, smelly and stratified, which indicates that its function is limited, it is better not to use it.
3.After the antiwear agent is stirred with a small amount of water or heated, the white powder will be precipitated after it is put aside for a period of time, which proves that these agents are very good and can be tried to use.
4.Try it directly, add anti-wear agent into the engine oil, it will not show effect after using for a period of time, of course, it is not considered in use.
Correct addition of antiwear agent can reduce engine wear and increase engine power, so antiwear agent is also called engine maintenance agent or strong modifier, which can extend the service life of engine oil and save fuel.
