What exactly is lubricant OEM certification? Why is it so important to get this certification? What exactly is lubricant OEM certification? Why is it so important to get this certification?

We often see some lubricants with XXOEM certification. So what exactly is an OEM? Why is it so important to get this certification?

What can OEM do for you?
OEM is the abbreviation of OriginalEquipmentManufacture refers to a manufacturer according to the requirements of another manufacturer for the production of products and accessories. OEM customers mean the market, the more OEM customers, the higher the market share of your product.
Oems adapt to the development needs of world-class brands
In the economic competition, people increasingly realize the importance of brand, because only by establishing a good image among consumers can we win the support of more marketing channel partners, and through joint efforts with channel partners, products can penetrate to a wider range of consumer groups. For this reason, many multinational companies with good operating performance have been focusing on the construction of brand image and marketing channels. Make full use of OEM mode to push mature products or other products that enterprises have production advantages into their own marketing channels, and use their advantages in value-added services to win a wider range of consumers.
OEM ADAPTS to provide customers with complete solutions
In the era of information economy, the division of labor in the industry is becoming more and more detailed, new products are emerging in an endless stream, and the high-tech content is gradually increasing, and the final consumer can not judge the applicability of the product by the scientific and technological content, because what they need is a comprehensive service based on solutions. The OEM approach puts forward a good way: that is, the enterprise melts its own proprietary technology into other products produced in the OEM way, so as to provide customers with solutions suitable for their own needs, which promotes the development of the enterprise's own technology, strengthens the influence of its own brand, and enables customers to get more comprehensive, timely and thoughtful service from the comprehensive solution.

Lubricating oil field: OEM mainstream manufacturer certification
In the field of lubricants, OEM certification also plays a crucial role. Oems have advanced production technology and testing methods for automobiles and their peripheral products, so the threshold for certification is very high. OEM mainstream manufacturers of lubricating oil products need to go through more than 30 rigorous bench tests, including high and low temperature performance, oil pressure, cleanliness, etc., any data is not up to standard, the oil will not be certified by the manufacturer. Therefore, being able to get OEM certification is undoubtedly a cutting-edge brand in the industry.

Teach you to understand the demanding BMWOEM product certification
BMW has a strict certification process for lubricants, and only lubricants that have passed the rigorous bench tests in BMW laboratories can be certified as BMWOEM products. The form of the BMW oil certification standard is as follows: BMW LONGLIFE-XX, LongLife means long-term, abbreviated as BMW LL-XX. At present, the main certification standards are BMW LL-98, BMW LL-01, BMW LL-01 FE, BMW LL-04, BMW LL-12 FE, BMW LL-14 FE+, BMW LL-17 FE+.
1. BMW LL-98

It is BMW's first long-lasting engine oil and is typically used on BMW petrol engines manufactured before 2002. The standard is based on ACEA A3/BX and requires a cTs kinematic viscosity of 13.9 and a total base content TBN of 9.5 at 100 ° C. As engine technology continues to improve, this standard has been abandoned by BMW and is no longer recommended.

2. BMW LL-01

This is a long-life fully synthetic engine oil standard established by BMW around 2002, fully outperforming and compatible with the BMW Longlife-98. The machine standard is based on BMW LL-98, which puts forward higher requirements for lubricating oil lubrication protection, requiring 100℃cTs kinematic viscosity of 12.3 and total alkali content of 10.4. Several viscosity options are available under this standard, such as SAE 0W-30,0W-40,5W-30 and 5W-40. Applicable to BMW petrol models from 2002 onwards, and diesel models from 2003 onwards (without in-car air circulation filter).

3. BMW LL-01 FE

Compared to the BMW Longlife-01, this standard increases the fuel economy standard of lubricating oil, mainly reducing the requirements for HTHS viscosity. This standard is mainly applied to post-2002 BMW models equipped with N1x, N2x, N54, N55, N63, N74 engines.

4. BMW LL-04

This is a long-life fully synthetic oil standard developed by BMW around 2004 specifically for BMW diesel engines equipped with diesel Particulate filter (DPF) exhaust systems. The standard is based on the BMW LL-01, but puts forward higher requirements in terms of environmental emissions. Applicable to all diesel engines with/without particulate filters worldwide. The use of BMW Longlife-04 engine oil in petrol engines is permitted only in Europe, including Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

5. BMW LL-12 FE

BMW LL-12 compliant oil for special BMW diesel engines such as Nx7K1, Nx7U1, Nx7O1 built after 2013, and only allowed in Europe (including Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) for gasoline engines from the 2002 model year.

6. BMW LL-14 FE+

In Europe (including Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein), as well as in the United States and Canada, oil conforming to the BMW LL-14 standard is only allowed for use in certain gasoline engines, such as the N20 and Bx8, after the 2014 model year, and is not allowed for use in diesel engines. The standard already has 0w20 viscosity oil, think about it is incredible, but since BMW official certification, should be able to use it? However, the oil friction coefficient under the standard is ultra-low, and the high temperature shear resistance is only 2.6, so it is best not to play this idea for friends who want to drive intensely.

7. BMW LL-17 FE+

It should be the latest BMW oil certification standard, and the oil that meets the standard is only allowed to be used on the specific BMW gasoline engine after the 2014 model, and is not allowed to be used on the diesel engine. It is estimated that it is a small upgrade of BMW LL-14, which is not limited to the region, that is, it can be used in our country, but the oil of 0w20 is estimated that BMW owners are not acceptable.
