The Base Oil can devided into synthetic oil and mineral oil. Synthetic lubricant oil which is prepared by chemical synthesis and then prepared by blending or further processing. Semi synthetic lubricatingnt oil refers to the lubricant oil made by mixing synthetic lubricant oil and mineral oil in a certain proportion. Because the raw materials of synthetic lubricants are expensive, the synthesis process is complex and the investment is high, the cost of synthetic lubricants and semi synthetic lubricants is generally higher than that of mineral lubricants. Compared with mineral lubricating oil, synthetic lubricant oil has the following excellent characteristics.

(1)Excellent viscosity temperature and low temperature fluidity

The viscosity index of synthetic oil is higher than that of mineral oil(You can add Viscosity Index Improver to increase viscosity index), and the viscosity changes little with temperature. When the high temperature viscosity is similar, the pour point of most synthetic lubricants is lower than that of mineral oil, and the low temperature viscosity is smaller. The same oil film requires that synthetic lubricant oil can be formed with lower viscosity to protect the engine. Therefore, it can reduce the energy consumption and extend the battery life when the car starts at low temperature; at the same time, it can reduce the dry wear of engine components and extend the service life of the engine due to the short time required for the lubricant oil to flow to the friction surface.


(2)High Temperature Antioxidant of synthetic lubricant oil

The thermal oxidation quiet performance of synthetic lubricant oil is far better than that of mineral type engine oil, the tendency of acid and oil mud produced by oxidation is small. Under all kinds of bad operating conditions, it can provide proper lubrication and effective protection for the engine, so it has a longer service life and ensures the performance stability of the engine oil in the long-term service life.

(3)Low evaporation loss of synthetic lubricant oil

Synthetic lubricant oil is a kind of pure compound with narrow boiling point, and its evaporation loss is much lower than that of mineral oil. It can reduce oil consumption, reduce exhaust emissions and extend the service life of catalytic converter. Compared with traditional mineral oil, synthetic oil has excellent chemical stability, good radioactivity resistance, high oil film strength and less foam. Therefore, synthetic oil is selected for ordinary high-grade cars.


Some problems will arise when a typical mineral engine oil is replaced by a typical synthetic oil. As one of the basic oil components of synthetic lubricant oil, ester has outstanding natural cleaning use. It can clean the phase film formed in the engine due to thermal oxidation decomposition when using mineral lubricating oil and float on the surface of lubricating oil. This surface material can clog the filter and block the oil circuit, resulting in insufficient oil supply. Therefore, when changing the synthetic lubricant oil for the engine with mineral lubricant oil for a period of time, it must be noted that the lubricating system must be cleaned before changing the oil, and the machine must be checked carefully before starting.
