If water is accidentally mixed into hydraulic fluid, it will cause the following hazards
1. After a certain amount of water is mixed into the oil, the hydraulic oil will emulsify and become cloudy. If the anti-emulsification ability of the hydraulic oil itself is poor, after a period of rest, the water cannot be separated from the oil, making the oil always in a white turbid state. This turbid emulsified oil enters the hydraulic system, which not only makes the components of the hydraulic valve rust, but also reduces its lubrication performance, which intensifies the wear of parts and reduces the efficiency of the system.
2. After the iron-based metal in the hydraulic system rusts, the peeled rust flows in the hydraulic system pipes and hydraulic components, spreads and spreads, which will cause the entire system to rust and produce more peeling rust and oxides.
3. Water will also interact with certain additives in the oil to produce contaminants such as precipitation and colloids, accelerating the deterioration of the oil.
4. The effect of sulfur and chlorine in water and oil produces sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, which intensifies the abrasion and wear of the components, accelerates the oxidative deterioration of the oil, and even produces a lot of sludge.
5. These water pollutants and oxidation products immediately become catalysts for further oxidation, eventually causing blockage or jamming of hydraulic components, causing malfunction of the hydraulic valve system, blockage of the oil distribution pipe, reduction of the efficiency of the cooler, and blockage of the oil filter. Fault.

6. In addition, at low temperatures, water condenses into tiny ice particles, which can easily block the gaps and dead ports of the control elements.

After the hydraulic oil enters water, what methods are there to remove water?
First of all, declare: The method provided below is a method obtained from the construction site master, and does not mean that it is completely scientific. Please be sure to conduct a small amount of testing before proceeding to the actual operation.

Method one: static method

The static method is only suitable for hydraulic oil that has not been emulsified. Because the specific gravity of oil is lighter than that of water, the water will gradually settle at the bottom of the oil tank after the hydraulic oil enters the water. The correct way is to stop the rotary excavator and let the hydraulic oil stand for several hours to allow enough time for the water to settle. Then, open the drain valve at the bottom of the fuel tank and drain the sedimented water. If the temperature of the oil tank is low, the oil temperature can be heated, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 70℃, which will help the oil-water separation.

Method two: oil and water separation method
In order to save costs, the oil and water separation method can also be used to remove the water in the hydraulic system. The specific implementation steps of the oil and water separation method are as follows:
①Prepare several clean oil drums, 1 clean scoop, 2 gas stove heads, 2 gas tanks (filled with gas), 2 clean and rust-free tin drums, 1 thermometer, and some without fluff Of cotton.
② Discharge most of the contaminated and deteriorated hydraulic oil in the system from the main pump suction pipe at one time, and pour them into two iron drums for heating (2 drums are divided to shorten the heating time). When the temperature of the deteriorated oil in the oil barrel rises to 80-85°C, turn off the flame and let the deteriorated oil cool down slowly. Because oil has a lower density than water, oil and water will separate automatically (oil on top and water on bottom). When the temperature drops to 60~70℃, first use a scoop to gently scoop out the upper four-fifths of the deteriorated oil into the system, then pour out the remaining 1/5 of the oil-water mixture for storage, and finally use the heating barrel Wipe dry with a cotton cloth for subsequent use.
③Start the rotary drilling rig to perform compound actions to raise the temperature of the hydraulic oil to 50°C. Each action shall not be less than 50 times and the time shall not be less than 30 minutes. After finishing the compound action, release all the oil in the system and pour it into the heating barrel for heating. Follow steps 2 and 3 to continue the compound action, and reciprocate more than 5 times. Pay attention to adding new oil into the system during the cycle.
④ After finishing the last cycle, level the rotary excavator and retract all the hydraulic cylinders completely so that the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic cylinders and pipelines can flow back to the tank to the maximum extent. After the machine is turned off, release the oil in the hydraulic oil tank, hydraulic cylinder, walking motor, pipeline and accessories.


Oil-water separation effect

Connect the pipe joints and add the previously discharged hydraulic oil to the factory standard. Start the rotary excavator until the oil temperature reaches 55°C, let the machine run for 1 hour, and observe that the oil is light yellow and bright in color. Observe the oil again after 10 hours of continuous use. No deterioration is found, and the oil color is still clear, indicating that the oil is basically normal. The machine was subsequently tracked and the oil was not found to deteriorate again. So far, the problem of engine oil deterioration has been completely solved, and it has been proved that this oil-water separation method is effective under limited conditions.

Method 3: Replace the hydraulic oil
The hydraulic oil can be completely replaced if the pollution of the hydraulic oil is particularly serious. After draining the oil contaminated by water, add new hydraulic oil to the lowest oil level that the oil pump can circulate, and start the oil pump to make it circulate. And continuously carry out various actions of the hydraulic system, so that the oil trapped in the parts of the rotary drilling rig that could not be discharged flows back to the oil tank. Then drain the fuel tank clean and replace it with new working oil. In this way, the problem of hydraulic oil ingress is completely solved.
